Ribeira dos Algares is one of three main tributaries of Ribeira da Cruz, with its source on the central plateau of the island. Part of its water is diverted to a channel leading to the Além Fazenda hydroelectric power plant. In the first part of the route, you can enjoy the wide and beautiful landscape of the Ribeira da Cruz valley. With its lush vegetation, high vertical drops, several pools, and some columnar basalt structures, this canyoning route is not to be missed on this island.
