Introduction[edit]

The canyon lies just next to Rio Simon. It doesn't have much water, so it is good for periods when other canyons are impossible to go through due to high waterlevel. It is armed in expedition style, for double-rope technique. Some of the rigging points are very exposed and you have to rappel into the water.

Approach[edit]

From Tolmezzo, pass Moggio Udinese and after a short tunnel section take a left turn sugnposted Roveredo. Park the car near the bridge over Rio Brezzi.

On the right side of the bridge, follow the path marked with n. 70 and red spots. After few meters, follow the AIC marks for the Rio Simon (Blue spots on white background). After you see the path 424, follow it on the left. After you cross Rio Brezzi, take barely visible path on the other side of the creek. Approximately after 250 m height difference, the path comes very close to the creek. Just before the path turns to the left, leave the path and descend to the canyon on your right side.
