Introduction[edit]

Biggera Superior is long with many slides. In normal summer conditions, the middle section is dry or with stagnant pools. However, after rain when other canyons are too high, Boggera is a good option.

Boggera Inferior has a mild flow normally, although less than most of the others in Ticino.

Approach[edit]

Park the lower car as per coordinates, beyond the building to the north (not in the pizzeria parking). Marked on Google Maps as "Boggera parking".

Descent[edit]

Beware the pothole in the middle section if it is not filled with water. Put one person down the previous drop and then into the pothole to check if the handline to exit is in position. That person should be able to climb a rope if retreat is required. The pothole can be bypassed from the top of the previous abseil.

Exit[edit]

Red tape[edit]

Hydroelectric plant. Infoline OFIBLE (Officine Idroelettriche Blenio) 0041 91 756 66 15 Don't forget it!! You must call every time to announce you're going in the canyon, and don't forget to call when you will be out of the canyon.
