Introduction[edit]

Approach[edit]

Hike down to the Sallent headwall. Cross the stream and continue out on the large rim trail. Note a trail on the right coming up from the canyon; this is your exit. At the signs, descend right. When you come to a small stream, this is the wetsuit changing area and the start of the canyon (there is a bolt LDC).

Descent[edit]

R1 is ~15 meters. If the canyon is holding water, there will be deep pools. The canyon is very green and slick with mud and vegetation. The final rappel is ~30m. Rigged from LDC, the start is interesting. Stem/step down on top of a natural bridge and rappel over it. You can finish the rappel in the main water course or walk over the large boulder at the end. The final person should walk over the boulder (or pass the pull cord over) for an easy pull.

Exit[edit]

Scramble down the boulder field until you come to a cairn on the right. The trail will be faint at first and follows the base of the cliffs. The trail becomes clearer when it intersects with a larger trail coming up from further down the canyon. Once the trails intersect, stay on the main trail as it leads up to the top of the rim. From there, hike out the way you came in.
