Introduction[edit]
The highlights are the 320ft multi-pitch rappel overlooking the ocean (and coincidentally a rock off the shore that is the westernmost point of the continent of Europe) and the exit hike along the beach that involves climbing over and down a rock outcropping and timing the waves to make it without getting blasted by a wave.
The R rating is for the big wall rappel that requires a safety line to the first belay station, and 2 hanging belays below that. everyone must be competent in changing ropes while hanging.
Approach[edit]
Descent[edit]
The 320ft 3-pitch rappel with a 100ft free-hang is what is notable. The other rappels are unremarkable. There is a very short curved hallway below the big rappel.
Exit[edit]
A 1,000ft gain is one of the biggest on the island.
