Wolfgang Streicher says "The once attractive gorge leading upwards was destroyed by a landslide after 2007. Nevertheless, the thermal pool is worth the short hike.".
Desente Canyon says "Avoid Friday, a day off for Jordanians. Very little to see: dirty and practically no canyon character; a landslide has drastically altered the site, in our opinion.".

In Jan 2026 the canyon was closed due to construction / maintenance of aquaduct that is used to approach the canyon.
