Introduction
From The Best Canyoning in Portugal:
Route of great beauty ending in a multi-tiered rappel on a rock wall dropping into the sea Along the route, impressive basaltic rock with columnar disjunctions worn out by water flows in the stream bed and several small narrow ponds, with the sea in the background are some highlights of this route with a special geotouristic interest and beauty. Not a route for beginners, but one of the best on the island of Flores, certainly not to be missed. Before departure, check the sea conditions and organise the exit by boat and car logistic arrangements. As the outlet orientation is NE, the sea conditions at the stream outlet can differ from those observed in Santa Cruz. There is a cell phone network at the final waterfall.
