More information
Contains canyons located within Capitol Reef National Park. Note, does not contain the popular canyons located outside of the Park to the south such as Poe, Happy Dog and Laughing Baboon. These can be found under Lake Powell, sub-area Halls Creek area.
As of January 2020, all technical canyoneering routes within the boundaries of Capitol Reef National Park require a Day-Use permit. A separate permit must be obtained for each route being descended. Permits are available at a self serve kiosk in front of the Capitol Reef Visitor Center, or online at: https://www.nps.gov/care/planyourvisit/canyoneering.htm
