Introduction[edit]
A nice, off-the-beaten-path canyon with multi-colored layers of rock and a few sections with shallow narrows.
Approach[edit]
Park at Bull Pen TH and hike WCC trail to Blodgett trail to the head of the canyon, entering via a side drainage.
Or drive Cedar Flat Road and park at the 90 degree left turn and then hike south into the canyon from there. This option requires a shuttle from Bull Pen TH.
Descent[edit]
R1: 70' from a cairn.
Enter the main drainage and boulder hop until reaching the sandstone layer.
R2: 20' from a rock pinch into a shallow pool.
A number of other short drops pop up and can be bypassed or downclimbed.
R3: 40' from a rock chock in a crack RDC at the edge of the drop.
Exit[edit]
Hike WCC trail back to Bull Pen TH.
