Introduction[edit]

The upper, technical portion of Dog Canyon consists of several tall, scenic, largely overhanging rappels, providing great views of the valley below.

Approach[edit]

Hike up Dog Canyon Trail. Bushwhack down into the watercourse of Dog once above it.

Descent[edit]

Large, overhanging rappels up to 200ft off of natural anchors. Sharp edges and jagged rock demands attention be paid - bring rope protection.

Exit[edit]

Hike down dog canyon trail to your wheels.

Background[edit]

Our exploration of this canyon in 2019 showed signs of a previous descent, likely many years prior.
