Summary[edit]

Rock hold broke while down climbing resulting in 10ft fall

Accounts[edit]

The first team member attempted to down climb R4 of Mesatchee creek DCL when the handhold, a large microwave sized block, broke off causing her to fall about 10 ft. Luckily only minor injuries were sustained, the worst of which was a deep tissue contusion on the low back. One team member was able to scramble up the right slope of the canyon back to the trail and set an ascent line for self rescue. Beware of loose rock when down climbing in Mesatchee Creek.
