Introduction
Getting its catchment from Switzerland's highest peaks, and the second biggest glacier of the country, the Gornera has dig itself deep into the green rocks above Zermatt. The canyon is divided into many parts (I to V, with an additional O less interesting), of which none is easy to master.
Approach
Depending on which part you want to do, the approach is different. But most of them you'll get by gondola to Furi (where the Section II is).
Descent
The adventure is yours ! Just make so to be prepared for everything, ice walls that can block the canyon, a siphon that need fixed rope from above (section III), snow floating on the water, etc ...
Exit
Unless you are doing the part I from where you can take the gondola at the end, you'll need to walk down to Zermatt.
