Summary[edit]
One member of our party was performing a slide on the last slide in the canyon when she inadverdently caught her right ankle on a small protrusion 1/2 down the slide, which arrested her slide and broke her ankle. We splinted her ankle and moved her about 500' down canyon where we were able to make a climb out DCR and were able to haul her up to the jeep trail, where we were able to get her a ride down the hill. She eventually went to Montrose and got evaluated, finding out her ankle was broken. She was doing the right side slide. Turns out, 2 other people have been injured before doing the left side slide at that location, near a rooster tail. Most of us slide straight off that slide in the middle to good success.
