Summary
A group of 14 descended the black hole. After all the major swims, one group member (fairly experienced) slipped on wet rock into a pool and landed on a ledge. They experienced intense pain in their lower knee. The group took a rest and assessed the situation. Pain medication was given from one of several first aid kids along with food and water, and use of splint or possible activation of a Garmin In-reach was discussed for SAR rescue. After approx 30 minutes of rest, the injured member decided to continue on under their own power with some assistance from other group members. Some group members scouted ahead to find the easiest path foward. A flotation device was used to assist the injured member through some of the deeper pools. All members were able to reach the exit point in approx 1.5 hrs. Injured member rested at camp for the remainder of the trip. Once they returned home, x-ray revealed a broken tibia.
