Summary
A Socal canyoneer with a broken leg was extracted via helicopter from Lower Jump Trip just below the big waterfall at 36.9004, -119.0594. He was part of a group of five, one of which stayed with him while the other three continued out of the canyon after meeting up with a different group of canyoneers.

This part is conjecture and is completely my opinion: From the little conversation we had with their group, I know that they came from Tea Cups the day(s) before. I think they drove into the Jump Trip and arrived late that morning. Otherwise we would all have started about the same time (730) that morning. In the canyon we let one group ahead of us before getting started.
I think we finished suiting up around 9-930am. We sighted them above canyon I'd say around 430ish and I waved to say hello not knowing if we knew any of them. Hand signals were the only way of communicating during that time. They did not indicate they needed help and no distress signals were shown. Later on they would say that they were trying to catchup with us to tell us that there was an emergency. Their three didn't reach us till about 530-600pm since our group decided to move faster.
So maybe it was bad shoes, maybe fatigue!? I'm just putting this up hoping it might provide valuable life saving and time saving information.
