Has user description  Jalisco is located in the southwest of Mexico around the cities of Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta and has a pronounced rainy season which impacts strongly which canyons can be done when. Most of the canyons are very aquatic, and almost all have serious flood potential, so must be planned with that in mind. Most of the canyons done to date (2015) are located in volcanic rocks, with just one being in limestones. During the warmer months of the year all can be done without wetsuits, but from Nov. through Feb. most people will be happier in a wetsuit. Many of the canyons have at least one very long rappel (225 to 320 feet / 70m to 100m) and thus see very little traffic. Rescue services in this area are basically non-existent, so be prepared to self rescue.
