Introduction[edit]

Approach[edit]

You can approach Lisa Falls two ways:

Short route: 1 rappel - 60 meters - 2 stage

From the base of Lisa Falls, on the left looking up canyon is a well used "trail" along the rocks next to the water flow that will take you up to the the bolts for the 60m rap. This is where you will see most people climbing up along the falls.

Extended route: 5 rappels - longest 60 meters (the only rap of short route)

From the base of Lisa Falls, further to the left is a trail running up a steep slope along the western ridge of Lisa Falls. Follow this up quite a ways up the ridge til you get a place where you are above an open section of rock wall. Begin to traverse over (through the scrub oaks) til you can reach the bottom of the canyon and the flow.

Descent[edit]

Short route:

60m Two bolts right down canyon and high (Main Lisa Falls rappel) use glue ins not the ice climbing anchors on the left down canyon

There are as of 8/13/17 two sets of 2 bolts above the main Lisa Falls rappel. 2x glue in bolts on the right looking down canyon and 2x mechanical bolts on the left looking down canyon. The glue in bolts make for an easier pull.

Extended route: **UPDATE** All 5 mandatory rappels have been bolted as of 8/9/22 Raps 1,2 & 4 are each a single Powers SS 3/8" X 2 3/4" 5 piece bolt with a Fixe SS Ring Anchor. Rap 3 has 2 bolts that looks like sleeve bolts, one of which has a Fixe SS hanger and the other has a ZP hanger (tsk tsk)

Rap 1: 30m Single bolt left down canyon

  • Looking up canyon at rap 1 station

  • Rap 2: 30m Single bolt right down canyon and low

  • Looking down canyon at rap 2 station

  • Rap 3: 30m Two bolts right down canyon right over the drop

Rap 4: 30m Single bolt left down canyon back from lip on greenish section of wall

Rap 5: 60m Two bolts right down canyon and high (Main Lisa Falls rappel) use glue ins not the ice climbing anchors on the left down canyon
