The drive out to Early Weed Bench trailhead will require high-ish clearance vehicles and AWD/4WD.
It is a five mile backpack trip down to the campsite near the climb up to start all three of the Little Baker Canyons. A fair amount of those five miles is across sand. We used flocculant (Polyaluminum Chloride - PAC) with five gallon Reliance foldable plastic jugs with the tops cut off to get the silt out of the Escalante River to filter it. There is a moki steps climb after crossing a grassy plateau not far from the camp labeled on the map. Send your most capable climber up first with a 50+ft rope to fix to a boulder above for a hand hold for everyone else. If you don't have a fairly capable climber in the group, it may be beneficial to bring along a pair of climbing shoes for your strongest climber to set the handline.
Middle Little Baker is the best of the three.
West Little Baker is not described in the book. For West Little, the final rappel is 170ft and has a rope sticking crack right down the rappel line. We had to extend the webbing 10 feet past the start and lower ourselves on the webbing before beginning the rappel, which is pretty freaky. The first time down, we stuck the rope even with extending the webbing a couple feet below the lip.
To get to East Little Baker, we went the purple line route up and over the hill. The black route would work for those that don't want to do the vertical of the purple route.
East and West Bakers are available after the climb up out of the river bed, as well if you're so inclined to add those to your trip. You can stay at the same level as the top of the moki step climb the whole way to East Baker. You have to cross East Baker to get to West Baker, which was not challenging with a little bit of looking around. Ropewiki's West Baker map has both East and West Bakers if you need it.
