Pin block

Description[edit]

A pin block is simply a block (such as a 'biner block or a Stone knot) substituting a pin (such as a screwdriver, but preferably something safer) for the carabiner. To retrieve the system, the pin is pulled out using a pull cord from the bottom, and then the rope comes out of the quick link and falls to the ground (along with the pin). A pin block is a releasable, partially-retrievable anchor rigging.

A pin block using a Stone knot and Fiddlestick pin is simply a standard Fiddlestick rigging on a quick link instead of a natural anchor.
