Introduction

not really all that scenic or narrow and it's a pain hiking in and out of the canyon to bypass around the few small drops that block progression. Many more worthwhile options exist in the area.

Approach

Approach from a small pullout on the west side of highway 89 at the head of the canyon or from Lone Rock beach, explore the canyon, return to your car.

Descent

R1: sling a big flat horn-slab high RDC

R2: tiny arch LDC

After you drop this, you have to figure out an anchor or be able to climb class 5 moqui steps to get out. These will be quite slippery when the rock is wet.

R3: anchor can be tricky for this. Hopefully you can find some decent rocks to make a deadman. We were forced to make a sketchy deadman/cairn from a pile of very crumbly and unconsolidated sand blocks

Exit

Retrieve your unsightly anchor from R1 you heathen.
