I'm a local to Utah. Learned canyoneering by taking the canyoneering class at BYU, and I was hooked! I like how canyoneering is a more satisfying version of hiking, with gobs of adventure, a dash of wayfinding, and that surprising crunch of engineering. I don't know if there is anything better!
