Hey, not sure if you saw my last response, but Cookstove has many downclimbs and only 1-2 mandatory rappels for in water course, though 3 total for beginners and all potentially avoidable. Slinging downclimbs do not make them rappels, and these that you are talking about are downclimbs. When we increase rappel count, we introduce an aspect of apprehension which is not necessary to this canyon. If this is Eric, I appreciate the work but Eric Moorcraft, Nick Clegg and Jamie have all noted this canyon for the lower rappel count and I would appreciate it if you didn't change beta and recognize their efforts. If this isn't, I appreciate you entering the sport but please do not change beta for a sport you are new to, you will soon see reasons for the lower rappel count after doing more canyons.
