More information
Summit County is a common Denver and Front Range phrasing usually referring to going skiing at Breckenridge, Keystone, A-Basin Copper Mountain or Loveland. Vail sits just to the west of the actual Summit County boundary.
The details about many mountain ranges meeting in this area:
Vail is in the Gore Mountain Range. Breckenridge is just east of the Mosquito Range, which goes as far south as Buena Vista. Keystone and the North Fork of the Snake are actually in the Front Range, since the Front Range is bounded by the Blue River, which runs north out of Lake Dillon toward Kremling where it joins the Colorado River.
