Introduction[edit]
Dumps into Not Mindbender from the south before the last rap. Same exit up moki steps. Mindbender has a higher and more impressive final rappel, but Almost MB offers more challenging down-climbs and pothole avoidance opportunities, esp. the last one that requires some creativity to avoid getting wet.
Approach[edit]
Park at Mindbender trailhead, hike north across the crypto taking care to follow an existing path, cross over Mindbender, then take the next drainage west, careful not to go as far as Maybe Mindbender.
Descent[edit]
The first rappel drops into a usually deep and long swimmer pothole. Send down a sacrificial lamb, then set up a guided rappel to keep everyone else dry. After this one the rest of the potholes are usually only waist deep, but can be avoided with good stemming technique.
