Introduction[edit]
Originally explored and named by Chris Brennan et al, in 1997, as part of the first descent of Fox Creek. This route is currently (Dec 2015) free of brush from the fire road to Fox Creek. Historically this route has been an aggressive bushwhack due to the narrow topography and minimal water flow. This route provides an interesting alternative to other Fox Creek approaches.
Approach[edit]
The full approach is described in the beta for Great Falls of the Fox:
Descent[edit]
Lots of down-climbing and one mandatory rappel. 100' of rope will get you to the ground without any exposure. Anchored off a bush on the canyon left side of the drop. It is possible to down-climb the last 60' or so on the canyon right side of the rap.
Exit[edit]
When you enter Fox Creek at 34.3185 -118.1829, turn left (downstream, E-NE) to continue to the technical section of Great Falls of the Fox.
