Has user description  There are three canyoning hubs in Brazil: Porto Alegre, Brasilia, and Mato Grosso. Porto Alegre is in the southernmost State of Rio Grande do Sul and has been site of the national canyoning rendezvous for two years running in 2022 and 2023, in November. It is the most famous with local canyoneers. From Brasilia it is a 2-3 hour drive north to the town of Sao Joa d'Alianca, and from there a 1 hour dirt road drive to Cachoeira do Label, the site of Encontro Brasileiro de Canyonistas, the first canyoning rendezvous in the region held in September, 2023. The State of Mato Grosso lies well further in the hinterland and is known for it's clean bright blue waters and waterpark style canyons, where people travel far and wide from around the country to play.
