Introduction

A nice, short, easy Mogollon Plateau canyon with one 30 foot rappel and a few somewhat tricky downclimbs. Though Bunker Hill Spring canyon is not very technical, it does have the same charm and scenery of all the other canyons in the area. Full description available in Todd Martin's "Arizona Technical Canyoneering" book.

Approach

Descent

As of August 2015 there is a very recent rock breakdown after the last section of narrows that completely blocks the canyon. A 10 foot, somewhat tricky climb must be performed to continue through the canyon. I suspect it won't last all too long as it gets eroded by water flow, but it may be there for a year or two.

Exit

After hiking down Mooney canyon for a little over a mile you will run into a barbed wire fence. Duck under the fence and the exit trail is immediately on your right following the fence line up.
