Introduction[edit]
This is a fun local swimming hole just outside of Bonao, so expect a lot of people hanging around. It has several clean jumps and one or two toboggans, so it's worth going to do if you're looking for something to do for a couple hours.
An upper section of the canyon exists, but it has not been opened yet because of figuring out how to access it.
Approach[edit]
There are several places to park along the main road. The place indicated on the current .kml is where we parked during the week of Semana Santa, which was very very busy with locals out enjoying the river on their days off work / school.
Cross the river and hike up the well established trail to the start. At the base of the first falls, the trail continues up to the top.
Descent[edit]
A few clean jumps and slides lead you shortly to the end. There will probably be locals swimming there who will happily show you the safe places to jump.
Exit[edit]
Hike back out the trail to your car.
