"Microspikes were handy for the several inches of snow on approach. A bit of flow moving through the canyon. Started late to capitalize on the snowmelt

Introduction

A scenic route in the Mother Canyon.

This route follows the same approach as Slingshot and Manzanita.

The big rappel is frequently buzzed by tourist helicopters, especially during the morning and afternoon hours.

Bonus points for the Chopper shot!

Approach

Starts @ Boynton Canyon TH.

Follows Same Approach Canyon as Slingshot.

Continue along sandstone ridge heading west and passing the drainage for Manzanita.

Enter the canyon directly east of R1 via an easy downclimb.

Please respect all dwelling cites in this sacred area.

Descent

R1: 20’ set back off tree. (This can also be downclimbed RDC)

R2: 190' from Boulder in watercourse. Possible Hikers Below!

Continue following the watercourse for a short distance until it opens back up to slickrock. Before R3, don't forget to look back over your left shoulder at what the chopper was checking out.

R3: 45' off a single bolt located on sloped wall LDC.

R4: 170' off tree next to watercourse.

Walk the cougar ledge RDC at R4! Great views / photo opp of last rap from the ledge.
