"Great dry canyon. Real challenge is scrambling up 250m to start, though left ropes and decent pathing help. Slings and bolts in canyon looked good. Wa |

Extract from Canyons Near Sydney[edit]
Grade: 6 (very difficult). Time: 1 day. 4 or 5 abseils. One 60 m (or more) rope is best otherwise the knots can get caught. Fairly dry. The hard part is rock-climbing up to the start ledge. A totally brilliant and breathtaking canyon. As you approach Glen Davis village, turn left 200 m before the road crosses the Caper-tee, and follow the National Park signs across a ford over the river (4WD needed) and down to the Coorongooba camping area. From past the National Park sign here you can see the slot across the river, and to likely weaknesses in the cliffline to the left of the slot, which give access to the half-way ledge where the canyon starts. The left of the two weaknesses is reputed to be the easiest. If you take the right-hand one there are several pitches of grade 10 rock-climbing, as follows:. Start from the top of a pedestal up an exposed face. Now walk up right, then left a long way, then climb left out of a cave up a face to a tree, then chimney up between the tree and the rock, and then climb up a groove. There is sometimes a pool in the canyon that you may be able to climb around.
