Introduction
A remote slot of Navajo Canyon.
This canyon, like others nearby, require a motorboat to reasonably access them, as they are located quite deep within Lake Powell.
All canyons in this area require the use of advanced retrievable anchor techniques; sandtraps, being the most useful. These slots are not bolted and traditional anchors are not to be found, nor should they be installed, please respect this tradition for the area.
This canyon contains multiple deep keeper potholes.
SandTrap required, potshots required, toggle useful, water anchor seasonally useful.
Wetsuit recommended during cold weather.
Approach
Descent
The longest rappel can be done as a 200 ft to a hanging pot hole and 125 ft as a 2 stage rappel. Hanging pot hole is a difficult pull so 300 ft rope plus 300 ft of strong pull line is advised.
There are at least 3 rappels over 125 ft in this canyon.
The final rappel is around 150 ft.
Exit
Red tape
Permit required from the Navajo Nation.
