Introduction
A short and sweet canyon that can be a great addition to a multi canyon day, or one to try when you’re running short on time.
Approach
From the pullout on the north side of highway 95, head north up the drainage. Walk up canyon (this will also be your exit) until you pass a small alcove on the right. Either continue up the drainage a few hundred feet to check the conditions of the pool at the last rappel, or take the easy trail/ramp of sand and rock on your left that will allow you to scramble up to the rim of the canyon. Continue along the rim until you find an easy way back down into the canyon where the drainage opens up.
Descent
Hike and do some easy stemming down the canyon for about ten minutes until it descends into a narrow slot.
- R1: 20 feet. Webbing slung on a chock stone. This can also be down-climbed.
- R2: 45 feet. Final rappel. Stemming over the pool at the bottom can be tricky as the walls open up at the bottom and are usually wet and slippery.
Exit
Follow the canyon back down the way you came to the road.
Red tape
None
