Introduction[edit]
Drizzle is a short canyon route, similar to nearby Bobcat (CNM). Drizzle adds a larger headwall rappel which makes it a bit more interesting, but requires a further approach hike up the Old Gordon Trail.
Approach[edit]
Park at the Devil's Kitchen Trailhead.
From the Devil's Kitchen Trailhead Parking, hike 15 min on the Devil's Kitchen / Old Gordon Trail to the intersection with the Echo Canyon Trail. Continue uphill on the Old Gordon Trail to (39.00965, -108.63720) and strike off trail to the West to the top of the Drizzle drainage.
Descent[edit]
R1: 90' from a tree down a low angle slope to a final 15' vertical.
R2: 100' from a tree DCL on the ledge down a headwall.
R3: 40' from a tree DCR or DC DCL
R4: 50' from a tree DCR
R5: 40' from a tree Canyon Center
At least four more short downclimbs follow in the boulder hopping below until the wash opens up.
Exit[edit]
Walk downstream in the wash until intersecting the No Thoroughfare Canyon Trail. Follow this to the right back to the Devil's Kitchen Parking.
