Introduction[edit]
With good stemming skills, it is possible to stay dry above the knees in normal conditions. There are about a dozen potholes with water. Some are easy climb-arounds. Some require more daring moves to avoid the water. Avoiding getting wet is the funnest thing about this canyon. There is little other reason to do it.
Approach[edit]
Descent[edit]
The first rappel is 20 feet off a chockstone. For the second rappel, the Juniper tree on the right rim has been used as the anchor for a retrievable anchor for a 2-tier, 80-foot rappel. There is also a deadman anchor in the drainage above the drop off. It can be down climbed to the watercourse where the deadman is. Have your best climber meat anchor a hand line for everyone to reach the drainage, then LAMAR can be partner assisted to make the last move, or can set up a retrievable hand-line. From the deadman anchor it is a 40 foot rappel to the pool below. Following the edge of the pool canyon right it may be possible to stay dry above the ankles with good balance.
Exit[edit]
