Introduction[edit]

While the lower section of Fall Creek is quite popular the upper section is rarely visited. With just a little more effort one can see this rarely visited part of the canyon.

Approach[edit]

Drop in via Fall Creek Gulch for a beta'd drop-in. On the map it is possible to drop-in anywhere between the markers labeled drop-in 1 and drop-in 3. Drop-in #2 enters the West Fork of Fall Creek right off the fire road and would involve the least amount of down-climbing.

Descent[edit]

A pleasant mostly brush-free stroll for most of route. Several down-climbs and short rappels will bring you to the final rap just N-NE of the lower section of this canyon. The final rap is approximately 130' if done as a single rappel, off bushes canyon left. About 1/2 way down this rap is a fairly level bench that you could re-belay from for shorter rappels.

Exit[edit]

After the final rappel the canyon turns to the west and you'll hit the Fall Creek Fireroad in about 500'. Continue in the watercourse at the fire road to enter lower Fall Creek.
