Introduction[edit]
Freshwater is a high quality canyon with a long sustained canyon section. Overall day is 15 km with 525 metre ascent. Wetsuit is advisable.
Approach[edit]
Follow the fire trail along Capertee river for about 2 km. At -33.13792, 150.33201 head up the ridge to the cliff line. Follow the cliff line to the left till you reach a big cave at -33.14512, 150.32350 This is a good camp cave. Cross the river and head up a crack in the cliff line at -33.14498, 150.32275. Walk along the ridge till the start of the canyon.

When you reach the cave either walk back the way you walked in or continue down the river to the fire trail.
