Introduction[edit]
This canyon was completed as a First Descent that is adjacent to another canyon nearby that has the drainage dropping over a very big wall. That canyon is Bat Canyon with a 500' rappel to get it done. This canyon is very similar as it also drops over the immense wall adjacent to Bat Canyon. This canyon was done with the 1st rappel being 540' to the ground in a continuous descent. However, there is a rock ledge partway down that appeared to possibly hang up the rope when pulling it down, Therefore we decided that it would be prudent to break up this big drop by doing it in two rappels, and also avoid having to pass knots with multiple ropes used. So, a second anchor was constructed at the mid-wall ledge to ensure we would not lose our ropes by getting them stuck. And the remaining team came down using this optional alternative. So there is an option of doing it with either of these two ways of descending it.
