Introduction[edit]
Watkins Glen State Park is an amazing hike on a stone path in a spectacular gorge. This path is extremely picturesque and features 19 waterfalls in the span of 1.5 miles. It was protected as a State Park in 1906.
This would be a great canyon if canyoning was allowed. At Watkins Glen, this area is additionally posted as a No Swimming area throughout the gorge. Trip reports have alluded to this place as Rivendell from Lord of the Rings.
Beta statistics are based on starting at the Upper Parking, hiking the gorge trail downstream and the Indian trail back to the Upper Parking.
