Introduction
The Rio Gutturu Fenugu, which gives rise to the waterfall of the same name, is simply the continuation of the Rio de Mesu.
Approach
Follow the clear cart track downhill until you reach the valley floor where the stream flows. This point of intersection is simply the outlet of the Rio de Mesu.
Descent
Once in the streambed, a series of small drops follow—some downclimbable, some jumpable—along with a short rappel on a single anchor, then about 500 m of easy, pleasant terrain with slides and jumpable pools, leading to a narrow gorge section with drops that can be climbed or jumped, bringing you to the Gutturu Fenugu waterfall: a fine rappel on a double stainless-steel anchor dropping into a pool with striking reflections in the right light. This is followed by another short drop that can be bypassed on the right, a few more pools, and a toboggan slide with an anchor set slightly back on the right bank, before the river continues with further slides and small pools, some suitable for jumping in.
Exit
Continue along the streambed past the confluence with the Canale de Urgua until the channel opens up noticeably; from there keep left to pick up a trail that descends along the river, climbs slightly over a large boulder field, and then becomes clearly marked.
