The west branch of Deanes creek, a nice canyon, higher quality than the east branch which is in the Rick Jamieson guidebook.
Approach
Descent
A 20m rope is recommended to safely descend a couple of short slippery downclimbs, although many parties descend without rope work. There are a couple of short swims that can be avoided with a little agility and bridging / stemming.
The creek would have been visited and descended / ascended by First Nations people for thousands of years. Many bushwalking parties would have visited since the 1960's too.
The name Henry Canyon was bestowed by Michael Keats, Henry being the first name of Deanes, of Deanes Creek.
