Introduction[edit]
A fun little wet slot canyon. It's a short descent for the approach hike, but you can get to the trailhead via train! This spot seems to be frequented by locals but I haven't found much documentation in the anglosphere. I also visited without gear and so didn't to complete the canyon. So, I'm just putting it on the map for now so future parties can document it better.
Approach[edit]
Either park at the marked parking lot and walk across the bridge (prohibited, but it seems everybody does it anyway) or get off at the Sandiaoling train station. Follow the marked track which hugs the gorge, then drop into the pretty looking honeycombed drainage whenever's convenient.
Descent[edit]
The canyon slots up nicely, at times stemmably tightly. I didn't see all of this, but it looked like bolted anchors for every station, maybe 10m drops max?
Exit[edit]
There's a series of ropes and carved stairs ascending back to the trail DCL. Alternatively, you can creekwalk your way back to a bridge and then walk the trail from there. I walked this whole section, it was a bunch of very slippery creekwalking with a few somewhat challenging downclimbs, one rap off a two-bolt anchor, and a lot of big spiderwebs to avoid. Fine if you like creekwalking, but nothing spectacular.
