R1: 180’ cairn in the watercourse.

• Rappel geometry results in multiple rope contact / friction points. It is recommended to fix a rope here and retrieve it from the top later, as the remainder of the canyon requires only a 50’ rope, rope grooving is developing at multiple points along the rappel, and retrieving the rope during the exit hike takes minimal time and effort.
