Summary
Gear Stolen
Accounts
We had stashed much of our technical gear at top of Yosemite falls late Friday night. Some of the gear that was hidden just off the trail near the observation deck was gone the next morning (2 sets of vertical gear, 2 helmets, 200ft rope and backpack). Fortunately one of the 600ft ropes was only carried a couple hundred feet away and dropped, otherwise we would not have been able to do this descent. Most of my gear I stashed beyond the railing, hidden behind boulder in a much more exposed position, was not touched. That allowed me to rig on Saturday and 2 others to descend, then the other 3 members got to descend on Sunday and tear down. But they had to hike back down to the valley Saturday and retrieved more gear from our vehicles to make this work.
