"Large group from the 2024 Bonao rendezvous descended the canyon. The drops at the top were short and muddy. The final rappel was nice, as was the hike

Introduction

A canyon that starts off with a number of short rappels in a small drainage. Toward the bottom a larger tributary enters, and the canyon finishes with a nice rappel.

NOTE: The number of rappels and the max height is approximate -- I didn't take exact note of the values on the day we did the canyon.

Approach

Hike on the approach trail past some cows.

Descent

The final rappel is the nicest of the canyon

At the confluence, turn and head upstream in the larger river coming in. You will have several swims while going upstream so it's recommended to keep your wetsuit on until the "Trail out" marker.
