Introduction[edit]

Nice canyon with several waterfall rappels in clean water.

NOTE: the number of rappels and max height are approximate based on my memory -- I didn't make exact note of these during the descent.

Approach[edit]

As of Feb 2026 they were working on this road. Seemed to be in mostly quite good condition and not terribly steep except for a bit just after the current parking point. One place higher they had a big pile of dirt over the road for some reason that had a slightly rough exit at the time. Otherwise it should be easy to drive to the top (if you have a shuttle car). Not sure why the track shows this as a hike (approach).

At the creek (start of descent), follow the right side of the creek on faint social trails abiut 15min all the way to R1. Wait to suit up until R1. The bolt is hidden on the edge right under a bromeliad

Descent[edit]

R1 55' 2 bolts R under bromeliad - mostly misses flow

R2 95' tree R starts out of flow

R3 45' single bolt hidden behind wall R

R4 45' single bolt L to short rebelay under lip of boulder to avoid rope pull through crack- R4.5 20'

R5 20' exiting little cave to river

At the river go up boulder L and R6 25' fiddle/rap little palm

Creeking and DCing to big pool R7 25' OR 22-30' jump off the boulder

Find a short steep trail left up to the power plant buildings

Note that the river could be high after significant rain events.

Exit[edit]

Hike out the trail. You can leave your shuttle vehicle just outside the gate to the dam control, or if you only have one vehicle, walk up the road about 1km back to where you started.
