Introduction[edit]

A mildly interesting WCC canyon that can be used to access Hanging Gardens / White Box.

These roads are very rough; some choose to simply hike the road rather than try and drive it, adding several more miles to the trip. From the first car park and back the trip is about 11 miles, but the additional hiking is easy road hiking.

"West clear creek normally flows at about 18cfs, so anything above 25cfs thru the White Box could be interesting to say the least (source)." Link to USGS meter.

Approach[edit]

Descent[edit]

Approximately 80' downclimb on tiered ledges in the access drainage that some may opt to rappel.

R1: 45' off tree.

R2: 80' off rock pinch. Possible exposed downclimb.

R3: 30' off tree. Possible downclimb on crack RDC.

Exit[edit]

Up West Clear Creek only ~15 min to Hanging Gardens. Continue up creek and swim through White Box section. Shortly after look for several prominent cairns on the right which lead you to a well-travelled trail to the top and back onto the horrible forest roads.
