Introduction[edit]

If the road were sealed then this would be one of the best half days trips in the region. The walk in and out are only 250m long, with a great section of sculpted granite perfect for a hot summer day, or after rain for a thrilling adventure.

Approach[edit]

Park where the track crosses under the powerlines and make your way down the spur with a slight trend north to meet the creek at the first abseil.

Descent[edit]

There are approx 10 abseils spaced across two short gorge-like sections. This first is more straightforward, with some abseils being optionally downclimbed at lower water levels.

The second gorge is more technical with a technical crux, needing to navigate a tight off-vertical crack with chockstones, siphons and false floors. Whilst straightforward at low flows, as the water rises it is increasingly hazardous.

There is telstra 4g reception for all bar the last 1km, and one must only climb 50m up the TL side to get back into coverage.

Exit[edit]

Just after the last abseil, climb up the slabs on the TL back to the powerlines.
