Introduction
Short canyon in the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, connecting to the Red Reef trail. With only 1 rappel/handline and some bridging/stemming, most of this hike will consist of fun class 2-3 scrambling, though the last pool of water may be hip deep.
Approach
Park at the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area (There is a parking fee unless you have a park pass), and follow the signs to the Red Reef trail. After going up a few moki steps, continue straight and follow the social trail up the gully, until you end up at the saddle. Follow the saddle down to the drainage, connect with Quail Creek, and continue along the drainage to the rappel station. There will be pools of water here after rains, but they are easily bypassable.
Descent
R1: 50' off a bolt RDC or make/follow a handline going around the right side of the rock to a redirect bolt. Continue following the drainage, downclimbing or stemming your way back to the junction with the moki steps.
Exit
You are back on the original approach trail, so take the moki steps across the water and return to your vehicle.
