Introduction

Scenic and worth doing, but a lot of effort. Expect a full day.

Approach

High clearance vehicle required to access parking. 4x4 necessary if wet (road may be impassable after heavy rains).

Hike Rock Creek Trail approximately 3 miles to the drop in.

Descent

All anchors are natural anchors.

The upper section has several rappels under 140’.

The lower section has four rappels under 170’ and an optional slide.

Exit

Follow the drainage all the way until it crosses the road. Walk the road a short distance back to your vehicle. A couple hours of creek walking, but the the scenery is nice and brush is minimal.

Alternatively, exiting on canyon left after the final rappel and traversing over to the trail involves bushwhacking through cat’s claw for over an hour. Long pants and long sleeves mandatory. Blood supply recommended.
