Hi I'm Andrew! I live in the South Bay, LA and have been in California since 2013, canyoneering for all of those, climbing for nearly twenty and skiing for 25. I'm beginning to take up caving as well, as I've been itching for something different and love technical rope work. I find ropewiki to be an amazing resource, so do my best to post trip reports and update beta as necessary. Unfortunately, I haven't logged trip reports for everything I've done. You can find that info here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1a3ZrzXBaSoenxnqtOWeD4ZxUIK_PisVBsTf-qEG5Fis/edit?usp=sharing I usually find myself in canyons with a small group of MIT folks that are currently spread across the country, or some aerospace industry friends from California, though I'm welcome to finding new friends-I find this sport interesting not only for the natural beauty of canyons, the technical knowledge required for descents, but for the remoteness and lack of visitors found in canyons and the interesting people the sport attracts. I've done trips to New Zealand and Switzerland, Austria and Spain, but still find Utah slots and California granite to be quite amazing. Wilderness First Responder trained, cert valid until June 2024
Pet peeves:
-Don't use the word guide unless they're a professional you're paying
-Pull cords don't make life easier. They get stuck, they hurt your hands, they're hard to pack. Please just bring enough rope.
-Know your skills and know what you don't know. Don't fake it till you make it, and be straightforward with folks about your skill level and knowledge
